Last week, Young Living celebrated its 30th anniversary at an international convention held in Utah. Many people attended the event in person, while Joyce and I joined virtually. This was my first convention, and I had only heard about all the excitement and fun from others, including Joyce. Although attending virtually is different from being there in person, I could still sense the passion and dedication that have contributed to Young Living's success.

We had the pleasure of hearing from Mary Young, the co-founder and inspirational leader of Young Living. Mary is a remarkable individual, radiating both inner and outer beauty. The conference delved into the deep-rooted history and modest origins of Young Living, highlighting the incredible, meticulously researched accomplishments that Gary Young brought to fruition.

Young Living is actively positioning themselves for a shift towards promoting healthier habits and lifestyles, aiming to make essential oils available to every home. Gary's children, Josef and Jacob, were both in attendance and shared their thoughts. They have great respect for their father's work and passion and seem eager to further their professional experience to continue their father's legacy using their existing and developing skills.

I really enjoyed the unveiling of new products at the convention. Those who attended in person got to experience these new products and more at the Expo. I must admit, I was a bit jealous that I wasn't there for any of this. True to their roots, they put a lot of time, energy, research, and development into the new products. I will share more about these after I've had the chance to try some of them!

The YL30 convention shed light on the critical importance of sleep for our overall well-being. Despite the myriad demands on our time, prioritizing adequate rest can be quite challenging. Our bodies, particularly our brains, rely on sleep to rest, rejuvenate, and detoxify effectively. It's a truly remarkable biological necessity, yet modern culture, including many societies globally, has shifted away from healthy sleep behaviors. To compound matters, essential minerals vital for supporting these habits are lacking in our soil and food. Young Living introduced a range of products at the convention, emphasizing the use of high-quality, thoroughly researched ingredients. After absorbing insights from the speakers, I'm feeling inspired to take a closer look at my own sleep routines. What's the point of spending extra time cleaning the house if I'm neglecting to provide my body with the necessary rejuvenation? I'm looking forward to delving more into this topic in the future with our team!

Overall, there was more than enough content, sessions, and education in the virtual attendee option for the amount paid to attend. I would recommend that others consider attending in future years. Next year's event will take place in Utah from July 16-19. Virtual and in-person tickets are available now. Another nice perk is that I have access to the convention videos for a while, so I don’t have to take in all the information at once.

Always learning with you,

Meet Reisa Abercrombie

As a wife and mom of three, I’ve always been drawn
to finding meaningful connections between health,
wellness, and the joys of everyday life. Over the years,
I’ve discovered how deeply intertwined our mind,
body, and soul are and how intentional choices can
create a lasting impact on our families and communities.

I grew up in northern Minnesota as the oldest of four
children, developing a love for creativity and connection that led me to the Twin Cities. There, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Northwestern
College in St. Paul and worked in the design field before transitioning to my most cherished role—raising my
family.

My husband, Andrew, and I have been married for nearly 13 years. Together, with our three children (ages 11, 6, and 5), we embraced a dream of rural living by moving back to northern Minnesota in 2022. Just outside of Grand Rapids, we’ve created a home filled with a large garden, a flock of chickens, and plenty of acreage for our kids to explore and grow.

Our faith and connection to our local church community play an integral role in our lives. When we’re not gardening, bow hunting, or enjoying a campfire, you’ll find us in our workshop. There, we pour our hearts into creating handcrafted wooden products—from unique cribbage and charcuterie boards to earrings and essential oil holders. Each piece reflects our passion for craftsmanship and the beauty of natural living.

Life is an ongoing journey of growth and learning, and I’m honored to share this path with you. Whether it’s through handcrafted goods or a shared passion for intentional living, I’m here to connect, learn, and grow together with you.

Thank you for your grace, support, and for allowing us to be part of your journey. Let’s build something beautiful—together.
